Xlina
Baku-verse Protagonist
Xlina Dar’Karrow is a Baku — half Druid, half demon — and neither half has ever let her rest. The signature magic everyone around her calls nightmare energy is as much a description of her life as it is her power set.
She came to Portland under the watch of Valeria, a succubus posing as her court-appointed social worker, without knowing she’d been handed to the city as a pawn in a demon’s private war. What she built there was real anyway: a home, a rivalry-turned-friendship with Amber Sedgewick, and a found family that includes the necromancer Oxivius, closer to her than blood.
That friendship with Amber became something the Baku-verse is still reckoning with — a daughter, Eevee, conceived through the Cauldron of Rebirth and prophesied as the next Messiah, born into a world where angels, demons, and everyone in between want a say in her fate. Xlina’s fight was never really about herself. It just kept turning into her fight anyway.
